Пожалуй, одной из наиболее знаменитых и желанных туристических достопримечательностей в Бангкоке является Большой дворец (На Пхра Лан Роад, Старый город, Бангкок). Это дворцовый комплекс, который служил официальной резиденцией королей Таиланда с 18-го века. Он был построен в 1782 году и известен своей впечатляющей архитектурой. Внутри комплекса вы найдете различные королевские храмы, множество золотых украшений, трон и прекрасные сады. Тем не менее, основной достопримечательностью города считается Ват Пхра Кео. Также он известен как Храм Изумрудного Будды, внутри вы сможете увидеть фигурку сидящего Будды из зелёной яшмы. Высота фигурки – 45 сантиметров, и, как правило, на ней одежда из золота.

Вы также можете посетить Ват (2 Санамчаи Роад, Гранд Палац подрайон Пранакхон, +(66) 0-2226-0335). Также его называют Храмом Лежащего Будды, это буддийский храм, который является одним из крупнейших и старейших в Бангкоке. Он занимает площадь около 80000 квадратных метров и в нем находится более тысячи изображений Будды. Одним из них является Лежащий Будда — одно из самых крупных изображений Будды в мире. Он имеет высоту 15 метров и длину 46 метра, Будда покрыт золотом, перламутром и жемчугом.

Другой заслуживающей внимания достопримечательностью Бангкока является Зоопарк Дусит (71 Рама 5 Роад, +(660) 02-281 2000), который считается старейшим зоопарков в Таиланде. Внутри вы сможете увидеть более 1600 животных разных видов.

Для того чтоб почувствовать себя в Китае, вы можете посетить район Чайнатаун, который расположен на дороге Йаоварат. Он выступает в качестве основного торгового центра для китайской общины в городе уже более 200 лет, и получил известность, благодаря своим магазинам и киоскам, где в розницу продаются разнообразного вида товары. Вы также можете попробовать уникальную уличную еду, которую подают в районе, или пойти по магазинам торгового центра.
