Некогда самая обычная деревушка выросла в один из самых известных курортов Египта. Произошло это не так давно, всего чуть более 30 лет тому назад. Даже если вы не были в этом городе на Красном море, вы наверняка о нём слышали. В Хургаде довольно мягкий климат. В феврале температура воздуха около 22-24 градуса по Цельсию, в июле же, как правило, не выше 35 градусов. Очень мало осадков. Летом их не выпадает вообще, зимой – редко.

Добраться сюда не сложно. На юге Хургады расположен аэропорт, куда прилетают как из Москвы, так и из других крупных городов России. Также есть автовокзал, откуда можно доехать, например, в Каир. По ценовой политике в городе достаточно большой разброс в выборе жилья. Прибрежную полосу шириной в двенадцать миль (двадцать километров) занимают дорогие отели, отели «всё включено» и другие предложения туроператоров. Если нужно что-то более демократичное, стоит искать жилье в самом городе. Такое жилье более подходит любителям туризма, нежели любителям спокойного пляжного отдыха. Ночные развлечения также предлагаются в центре города.

Пляжи в Хургаде есть платные, принадлежащие гостиницам и отелям, они, как правило, чистые, ухоженные, и бесплатные, менее благоустроенные и часто замусоренные. Около берега любителям подводного мира, как правило, делать особо нечего. Коралловые острова находятся довольно далеко от берега. Посмотреть на них можно на морских прогулках. Есть лишь одно место, где коралловыми рифами и рыбками самых разных окрасок можно наблюдать прямо у берега. Находится оно около пляжа, принадлежащего отелю Захабия.

Благодаря тому, что Красное море очень чистое и прозрачное (за счет отсутствия рек, впадающих в море) здесь рай для любителей дайвинга и снорклинга. Также Хургада является одним из излюбленных мест у виндсерфингистов. Можно насладиться путешествием на корабле пустыни – верблюде, либо же выбрать более современный вид транспорта для поездки по пустыне – квадроциклы либо джипы.

Из достопримечательностей имеются: мечеть, коптская православная церковь, «восточный Диснейленд» — дворец «Тысячи и одной ночи», Хугардский светофор. В пустыне можно совершить поход на вторую из самых высоких гор Египта. А вдоль набережной располагаются многочисленные кафе, аттракционы, развлекательные комплексы. Ночью необычайно красивые фонтаны и световые шоу усладят взор любого путешественника.
